Food Project

The West Finland Food project produced a food industry development system and organisation for the WFA area. The project was concluded on 30 August 2001.

HubNet

The HubNet information society project established a network of pilot regions with the aim of preventing exclusion of the 5b regions from the development of the information society.

Nature Tourism project

The Nature Tourism project created a Nature Tourism strategy for the WFA area and collected information on recreational routes and nature tourism enterprises. The information was entered in a database system that can be utilised, for example, by the Regional Councils and other regional organisations and municipalities for the planning, directing and marketing of nature tourism and recreational activities.

Information Society project, Paraddis

The first phase of the Information Society project, PARADDIS, took place from 1 November 1996 to 28 February1999 and produced an information society strategy and action plan for the whole WFA area. The Paraddis + project continued the development activities by carrying out the action plan. The Paraddis + programme period was 1 December 1999 to 31 December 2001.

Wood Network project

The West Finland Wood Network created a knowledge network linking educational and research institutions and businesses in the field. The know-how embodied in this network will be used to help small and medium sized enterprises in the countryside in product development and marketing.
